Patagonia on foot: Perito Moreno, Fitz Roy and Torres del Paine
Twelve days across the southern icefield for two hikers: the Perito Moreno glacier, three nights under Fitz Roy in El Chaltén and three nights in Torres del Paine, with proper beds every night
Overnight to Buenos Aires and straight on to El Calafate, where the first full day belongs to the Perito Moreno glacier: the boardwalks opposite the ice front and an hour by boat along it. Then the bus north to El Chaltén for three nights at the foot of the trails, with Laguna de los Tres on the big day and Laguna Torre on the second. A long bus day with a night in Puerto Natales brings you into Torres del Paine for three nights in a lodge where the Base Torres trail starts at the door; the Grey glacier by boat on the third day. One night in Punta Arenas on the Strait of Magellan, then home via Santiago and Madrid.
